Dear father of Maddalena (Lorne), Giovanni (Christina), Franca (Paul) and Ellena (Darren). Cherished Nonno of Emerson, Emma, Lily (Walter), Gianfranco, Matthew, Nolan, Megan, Lucas, Ethan and Jack. Freddy had a very special passion for each one of his 10 grandchildren.  Whether it was touring them in Italy, Arizona, Thunder Bay or Six Flags; quality time was cherished, and memories were made. Beloved brother-in-law of James (Sandy), Shirley (Lino), Olive (Rodger), George (Cathy) and Steve. Special Zio to Romanella and Paolo of Italy. Loved uncle to many nieces and nephews of the May family. Dearest friend to Debye and Bruce (Elliot Lake) and Sally and Iggy (Sudbury).
Freddy was born on November 30, 1947, in Volpago del Montello, Italy. He journeyed to Canada at the age of 18 looking for a better life. He met the love of his life, Joyce, in the summer of 69’ at a teen dance in Azilda. They went on to raise four amazing children. His drive and ambition led him to lay the foundation for his company, C & A Steel in 1971. The business continues to move forward with his son & daughter, Giovanni and Ellena at the helm. Freddy loved and cherished all the C & A Steel employees and made them all part of his family. Freddy was an amazing businessman and entrepreneur and made his mark in the structural steel industry and recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. His keen eye and attention to detail made his company successful across north America and the Caribbean. Freddy enjoyed travelling and loved spending the winters in Mesa, Arizona and summers on Manitoulin Island at Batman’s Campground with family and many friends. Freddy was a dedicated friend of Bill W.
