It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edmund William Thomas Black on November 8th, 2021, at the age of 92. Ed is survived by the love of his life Irma (nee Emmerson) of 69 years, children Edmund (Alison), Trent (Theresa), Tim (Lynda), and Wanda McFarlane (Murray). His grandchildren Lauren (Jeremy Jacques), Hayley Wright (James), James, Emily, Tracey (Kristen Gagnon), and Hannah, and great grand children Emmett, Isla, and Nora. Predeceased by siblings Osra LeBlanc (Roger), Verna Neil (Jack), Lola Graff (Lewis), Ruby Carr (Danny), Martin Villemere (Evelyn), Della, and survived by Doris Dodgson (Bob), George (Helen), and Merlyn (Terry - deceased).

Ed had many passions and talents in his life. Family, playing and performing music (country, is there any other with his treasured D18 Martin), traveling and camping at music festivals with the Bulmers and friends, building the family house, hunting and fishing, Mr. Fix-It, a 42 year career at INCO, and always telling a joke or striking up a conversation with anybody.

The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at St Joseph's Villa for their compassion and care and also for home care staff, especially Rose-Anne of For Seniors Only, whom he thought of as extended family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 at the family home in Garson, where friends and family are invited to stop by, share a story, and visit between 1pm and 5pm. If you wish to make a donation, the Alzheimer's Society is a good choice, but a charity of your choice is also appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
