In loving memory of Francesca Clara (nee Crispo), 87 years, who passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Villa, Sudbury.

Beloved wife of Mario Clara (predeceased 2012). Loving mother of Anna (predeceased 2019, husband Pino Filice) and Loretta. Cherished nonna of Jessica, Marco (Jennifer), Steven, Stephanie (Stefano), and Cristina. Loving great-nonna of Catina and James. Dear daughter of Rosario and Maria Assunta (nee Dominelli) Crispo both predeceased. Dear sister of Salvatore Crispo (wife Lina), Bruno Crispo (wife Diane), Rosa Della-Porta (husband Joe), and Frank Crispo (wife Brenda). Special sister-in-law to Albino (wife Bruna), Bruno (wife Amparo), and Aldo predeceased (wife Nancy). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Serra San Bruno, Italy, Franca was raised Catholic and valued kindness and hard work. When she was younger, she worked as a farmer to help her dad make charcoal. As a young lady at the age of 19, she immigrated to Canada with her family. Here in Sudbury, she met and married the love of her life, Mario, in 1953 at St. Clement’s Church. Together they built a beautiful life. They spent many happy times at their camp on Whitewater Lake in Azilda surrounded by many loving family members. They also enjoyed their winters in Acapulco, Mexico. She had a huge garden in her backyard at home and always had fresh ingredients for her delicious cooking. Outside of the home, she worked in the laundry department at the Sudbury General Hospital. Franca was always quick to help others and she enjoyed dances and parties. The priority of her life was her family, especially her precious grandchildren in whom she took great pride and interest in their activities and accomplishments.

She spent her last few years at St. Joseph’s Villa battling dementia. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at St. Joseph’s Villa, Garden Way, who ensured her safety and comfort. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
