1930 - 2021

With heavy hearts, the family of Maureen Monica Cleroux (née Cole) announce that Maureen passed away peacefully at the age of 91.  Maureen lived a full life and is now reunited with her husband, George Cleroux (predeceased 2011).  Maureen is the daughter of Charles and Ursula Cole (predeceased), sister of Oscar and Thomas Cole (predeceased).  Beloved mother of Brian (Debbie), Randy (Sheila) and Alison (Daniel Vanleyden, predeceased), Maureen is also the grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren: David and Amanda Cleroux; Eve and Sarah Cleroux; Greg and Kelly Vanleyden; Jenn Cross Brunet and Geoff Cross.  Maureen was thrilled to be the great grandmother of 9 great grandchildren: Marley and Benjamin Cleroux; Thrift, Thatcher and Thornton Vanleyden; Daniel and Charlie Kelly; Madeline and Cooper Brunet. Maureen retired as Clerk of the Town of Nickel Centre in 1990.  In retirement, she and George travelled widely.  They wintered in Arcadia, Florida and spent many happy years at the Arcadia Village Golf and Country Club.  Maureen is still the only person in the family to achieve a hole-in-one. Maureen and George had a wide circle of friends and she will be missed. Maureen will be interred at St. John’s Cemetery in Garson.  A memorial will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
