Czerwynec, Stefania

January 4, 2010 83

CZERWYNEC, Stefania - In loving memory of Stefania (nee Fedun) Czerwynec, 83 years, who passed away Thursday, December 31st, 2009 at the Elizabeth Centre, Val Caron. Stefania (Stella) was born November 29, 1926 in the town of Pukiw, in the Ukraine. She immigrated with her family to Saskatchewan as farm workers on February 13th, 1948 and later that same year married Ivan Czerwynec (predeceased 1984). Loving mother of Jaro, Ljuba Anceriz predeceased (husband Jim), Bill (wife Carol) and Mike (wife Mary Lynn). Cherished Babba of Cory (fiancée Stephanie Anderson), Krista (fiancé Matt Deredin) Sara and Lisa as well as great grandchildren Brooke and Ayesha. Dear daughter of Simeon and Ahaphia Fedun (nee Onufryk) - pre-deceased. Dear sister of Slawko predeceased, Ivan (wife Helen) both predeceased and Kay Wolowec (husband Walter predeceased). Special aunt to Lesia and Irene. Stefania was a homemaker and for many years, was a member of the Ukrainian National Federation on Frood Road. She spent hours upon hours producing beautiful tablecloths, pillows and doilies in the traditional Ukrainian stitchery. Often during the summer, she would travel to Grimsby, Ontario to lend a helping hand on the family's fruit farm. Stefania was most known and loved for her incredibly soft heartedness, kindness and giving nature. Anyone who came to visit would always first be invited to sit down to the kitchen table to eat and next Stefania would scurry about the house in search of a little trinket or gift that she would quickly wrap and offer her to her guests. Among some of the many things she enjoyed doing with her friends were playing dominos and cards, bowling, going to Bingo and testing her chances with Lady Luck at the Casino. She loved her jewelery and “bling” and always had a necklace, ring, bracelet or pair of earrings to show you or give to you. She made the best perogies on the planet and would stay up until the wee hours of the morning preparing special meals for the next day's feast. While she never made it back to the Ukraine to visit, she always maintained the Ukrainian traditions within her family. Special thanks to the staff of the Elizabeth Centre, particularly in home area three for their kindness, compassion and the loving care they provided to Stefania during the three years she resided with them. We know you will miss her ready smile even when words were difficult. Resting at the JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R.J.
