DAIGLE, Diane - La famille annonce avec profonde tristesse, son décès le vendredi 19 juin 2009 à l'âge de 55 ans. Fille de Fernand Daigle de Sudbury et de feue Pierrette Daigle (née Goulet). Épouse bien- aimée de Daniel Sweeney de Sudbury. Ses enfants, Jennifer St-Amour (Jean-Paul) de Waterdown, ON, Shannon Sweeney (Shawn Dollar) de Sudbury, Jonathan Sweeney (Lisa Guido) d'Ottawa ainsi que ses petits- enfants, Isaac St-Amour, Jacob St-Amour, Jordyn Dollar et Austin Dollar, garderont de doux souvenirs d'elle. Prédécédée par son frère Jacques “Coco“ Daigle. Elle est également grandement regrettée par plusieurs belles-soeurs, beaux-frères, nièces, neveux, tantes, oncles ainsi que plusieurs parents et amis de partout dans le Canada. Ayant obtenu un baccalauréat en arts et sciences politiques, Diane a travaillée pendant 35 ans à l'université Laurentienne au département de commerce et, elle était très fière d'avoir été nouvellement nommé au département d'installation et planification ou elle travaillait comme assistante administrative. De plus, sa famille est très fière d'annoncer qu'elle a été, tout dernièrement, récipiendaire du mérite présidentiel du Comité consultatif du recteur sur la situation de la femme de l'université Laurentienne. Diane était, avant tout, très dévouée, à son époux, ses enfants et petits- enfants. On se souviendra d'elle ayant été une dame de grande foi, qui a fait part de plusieurs groupes spirituels de la région et qui a toujours oeuvré, avec grandes convictions, à la défense des droits de la femme. Diane a siégé au conseil d'administration de plusieurs organisations dans la communauté: le Conseil d'affaires et les femmes professionnelles de Sudbury, le Comité consultatif du recteur sur la situation de la femme (UL) et le Centre des femmes de Sudbury. Elle a aussi été représentante des femmes sur le conseil de la Commission de partenariats en main d'oeuvre de Sudbury et Manitoulin. Elle laisse un grand vide à sa chère famille, ses amis et tous ceux qui l'on connue. La famille souhaite remercier le Père Joe, de la paroisse Holy Redeemer et Marie Bouclin pour leurs soutiens spirituels. La famille recevra parents et amis à la COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE, 222 boulevard Lasalle E. (angle Notre-Dame), Sudbury, mardi de 14 h 00 à 17 00 et de 19 h 00 à 21 h 30. Une messe funéraire sera célèbre le mercredi 24 juin 2009 à 11 h 00 à la paroisse Holy Redeemer, Sudbury. Dear daughter of Fernand Daigle of Sudbury and of the late Pierrette Daigle (née Goulet). Beloved wife of Daniel Sweeney of Sudbury. Loving mother of Jennifer St-Amour (Jean-Paul) of Waterdown, ON, Shannon Sweeney (Shawn Dollar) of Sudbury and Jonathan Sweeney (Lisa Guido) of Ottawa. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Isaac St-Amour, Jacob St- Amour, Jordyn Dollar and Austin Dollar. Predeceased by her brother Jacques “Coco“ Daigle. Lovingly remembered by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and many relatives from across Canada. A Bachelor of Arts graduate, Diane worked 35 years at Laurentian University in the Commerce department and was quite proud of her recent appointment to the Department of Physical Plant and Planning as administrative assistant. Her family is most proud to announce that she was recently a recipient of the Presidential Advisory on the Status of Women Award. Diane was, above all, a devoted wife as well as an extremely proud mother and grandmother. Her good character and the kindness of her heart won the affection of her loving family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was a woman of strong faith, belonging to several local spiritual groups who will be remembered for her strong convictions and having been a staunch supporter of women's rights. Diane was a board member of many local committees: the Sudbury Business & Professional Women, the Presidential Advisory Committee on the Status of Women and the Sudbury Women's Center. She also represented women on the Sudbury-Manitoulin Training Adjustment Board. The family expresses its heartfelt thanks to Father Joe from Holy Redeemer Church and Marie Bouclin for their spiritual support and guidance. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CO- OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Church, Sudbury. Donations (by cheque only) to the Sudbury Women's Center or the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated.
