1932 – 2021

Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Patricia de la Morandiere, on Friday, April 2nd, 2021 at the age of 88.

Patricia was a very loving and proud mother who was so dedicated to family that the first initial of her first five children spelled it out. Francis-Jordan (predeceased) (Jeanne), Alex (Connie), Marie (predeceased), Ingrid, Liana (Ralph), Yvonne, Steven (Irma) and Michelle. She was also the cherished Grandma/Nana to 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, Pat was the daughter of the late William Barnett and Anna Ingebrigtsen (nee Walberg). She was also the dear sister of late Jack (Hilda), Myrtle (late Fred), Jim (Susan)(late Jill), Bob (Maureen) and Larry (Wendy).

At the age of 19, Pat moved to Killarney, ON with her new husband Julian, later moving to the Sudbury area to continue raising their family. During their 35-year marriage, they shared many happy memories including picnics, Georgian Bay shore lunches and swimming in the local lakes. Pat was always game for fun and adventure, from speed skating in her younger years to skiing and playing baseball later on with her kids. While raising her children, Pat worked at many places including the Killarney Mountain Lodge and the Sudbury Board of Education. She loved to knit, sew, bake (especially her pies and infamous Swedish Coffee bread) and was a proud lifelong member of the Killarney CWL. Everyone who knew Pat could attest that she loved life to its fullest, gave with her whole heart and was never without a smile, a laugh and a helping hand.

Patricia will be dearly missed by all who knew her, including her lifelong friend Millie and her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the 6th floor, south tower of HSN for their compassionate care and support.

A private family service and Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to (CPAR/www.cpar.ca), Pat’s charity of choice, would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Simple Wishes of the North, where online condolences, stories and pictures can be shared.
