In loving memory of Rheal Desbiens 89 years Passed away peacefully at Extendicare York with his daughter by his side on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2020.

 Beloved husband of Rose-Anna Desbiens (nee Rainville). Will be sadly missed by his daughters; Elizabeth “Liza” Landry (husband Gilles Guillemette) of Sudbury, Diane Gervais (husband Luc) of West Tree, Reina Lavigne (husband Pat predeceased) of Hanmer, Rachel Ross (husband Laurent predeceased) of Sudbury, Denise Desbiens of Sudbury and predeceased by Anita Desbiens (husband Tony of Sudbury). Proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Aurelien and Marguerite Desbiens (née Gervais). Dear brother of Eugene predeceased, Emile, Jeannine predeceased, Florence, Lucien, Tony, Normand predeceased, Rene, and Lillian. Special uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Rheal was born and raised in Hager. He married Rose in Sudbury in 1956. He worked as a mechanic in Hager for many years. Rheal’s favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing and he and Rose were avid bowler. His family was very important to him, he was an amazing father and grandfather. He left us with many happy memoires we will cherish forever. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff, PWS’s nurses and doctors on the 2nd floor at Extendicare York for the amazing care provided to Rheal and his family.

Visitation and service at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home. Due to COVID social gathering restrictions, the visitation and service will be for immediate family only. The service will be live streamed Monday, December 7th, 2020 at 11:00 am and can be viewed at: https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=160711875088806. For those attending pandemic directives are, 50 people or fewer are permitted in the visitation room, and 80 or fewer in the chapel. Face masks are mandatory. He will be buried alongside his wife in the Warren Cemetery. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
