It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Dube on Thursday February 2, 2023 at the age of 77. Bob was born in 1945 to Alfred and Frances Dube (nee Gorman), both predeceased. Bob resided in Sudbury his entire life.
Loving husband of 29 years to Betty (nee Edmonds). Loving Father of Heather Dube and Tiffany Dube Ladyk (Mike). Loving Stepfather to Stephanie Whiteduck, Jennifer Slivinski (Luke) and Larry Whiteduck. Grandfather of Shannon, Graeme and Sam. Step granddad of Jessica, Justin, Caitlin, Luke Jr, Noah, Makennah and Cameron. Special Great Papa of Teagan, Sofie, Brooklyn, Mackenzie, Hayden and Hope. A special mention to papa's little girl Brooklyn. Brooklyn will miss papa immensely. Spending time out at camp, just last September papa took her fishing with her new fishing rod. She caught 3 bass off the end of Leigh's dock. A very proud papa's moment.
Dear brother of Jeanie Carroll (Mike predeceased, Brian Dube (Nancy) and Louise Beairsto (Clay). Loving uncle Bobby and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob worked at Inco, retiring in 1988 with 30 years of service.
Bob was an avid fisherman. He was known for his skills in fileting his catch. Bob enjoyed the outdoors and spent many happy years at his camp on Armstrong Lake. He welcomed visitors and took pride in taking them down the lake to his secret fishing holes.
Bob was community minded and volunteered with Kiwanis Club of Sudbury and was a volunteer firefighter at the Lockerby station.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday April 15, 2023 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76. 1553 Weller Street (Minnow Lake) Sudbury from 2-5:30pm. Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Cremation Services.
