Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Extendicare York Nursing Home at the age of 95 years with her daughters by her side. Born in Hanmer, ON in 1924, widowed at the age of 39, she dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. Gilberte was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, “Memere”, great-grandmother and friend. Gilberte was predeceased by her husband Adrien Dupuis. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jocelyne Lemieux (late Roger), Paulette Bean (Del), Jeannette Rainville (late Robert), Colette Cooke (Ken), Anne Dupuis (Mitch Rajchevich) and Marthe Menard (Todd). Predeceased by her daughter Denise Blais (Maurice) and her son Ronald Dupuis (late Helen). She is the proud grandmother of 19 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 17 great-grandchildren. Loving sister of Lucille Bertrand (late Herve), Onésime Tremblay (Jeannine) and Jacqueline Doucet (Leo). Predeceased by her sister Juliette Pilon (late René). The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4570 St-Joseph St, Hanmer on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, Capreol. Due to the current pandemic, there will be a limit of the number of people attending. Masks are mandatory. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff on the 3rd floor at Extendicare York for the compassionate care given towards Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online or by cheque to Maison McCulloch Hospice or Northern Cancer Foundation.
