Hollydore “Eaz” Fortier, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Charles Édouard and Rose-Alba Fortier, Hollydore was the beloved husband of 66 years of Estelle Fortier (née Dupuis), the cherished father of Jacques (predeceased), Francine (Denis Houle) and Nathalie. He was also the adored “papi” to his grand-children Justin, Jean-François (Marquise Léveillée), Mathieu (Megan Harvey), Stéphanie (Bruno Oliveira) and Marcus, as well as to his great-granddaughter Neve. His family meant everything to him. Hollydore was born on July 22nd 1931, in Earlton, Ontario. He attended Kemptville College and became a successful butter maker and businessman, owning and operating the Earlton Creamery with pride and dedication for over 40 years. His happiest memories, however, were created at his beautiful cottage on lake Temiskaming, which he was fortunate enough to enjoy right up until his final days. Hollydore will be remembered for his love of family, generosity and enthusiasm for life. The Fortier family wishes to express its gratitude to Dr. Desilets and the staff at the Temiskaming Hospital for their kindness and compassion during Hollydore’s last days. Memorial visitation will be held at The Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 where friends may gather from 3:00-5:30pm. A service will be held in the Cooperative’s chapel at 5:30pm. Donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (Sudbury Chapter) in Hollydore’s name would be greatly appreciated by his family.
