It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad Gerard (Gerry) Joseph Foucault in his 85th year. He will be sadly missed by his daughters. Lynn (Darren) Digby, Nicky (Danny) Stashick and Sandra (Brent) Capodagli. He took great pride in his grandchildren; Tyler (Lyndsey) Digby, Curtis (Kaylee) Digby, Jesse (Amanda) Digby, Ryan (Nadine) Stashick, Carolynn Stashick, Joshua Capodagli, Leah Capodagli, Sarah Capodagli and Julia Capodagli (pre-deceased). Great-grandfather to Aubrey and Luke Digby.

Gerry was blessed with two incredible partners. Pre-deceased by Carol in 1987 and Laurette in 2022. With Carol he raised his three daughters; teaching them the value of hard work and the appreciation of the outdoors. He enjoyed his retirement with Laurette, travelling, gardening, and spending time with the grandchildren and Laurette’s extended family.

Gerry started working for Inco at the age of 18. As his career progressed, he became a shift boss at Frood and Little Stobie mines where he was recognized for his hard work and dedication to safety. Gerry will be remembered for his quick wit, sharp humour and his love for the Montreal Canadiennes. Gerry was never afraid to share his opinion and always rooted for the underdog. Gerry was a gracious host and loyal friend who truly appreciated the kindness of others. On his behalf, we would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Lasalle Residence for their care and compassion over the last 18 months.

As per Gerry’s request, there will be a private family ceremony. Donations can be made to the Sudbury Food Bank.
