FRANCIS, Flore (nee Jean) - In Loving memory of Flore (nee Jean) Francis, 84 years, who passed away Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 at the SRH St Joseph's Health Center. Beloved wife of Leo Francis predeceased 2000. Loving mother of Claudette Gamsby predeceased 2002 and Claude Francis (wife Heather). Cherished grandmother of Daniel (wife Heather), Christine (husband Greg Gonkowicz), Raymond, Natalie (Cameron) and great- grandchildren Gabrielle, Quinn and Logan. Dear daughter of John and Bernadette (Rail) Jean predeceased. Dear sister of Jean (wife Therese), Zelia Bacon (husband Parfait predeceased), Arthur, and Nicole Dorions (husband Adelard). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Percé Gaspé, Québec, she married Leo Francis in 1955 in Montreal, moving to Elliot Lake in 1957 and settling in Sudbury in 1959. Flore had been a waitress at local restaurants for many years, retiring in 1971. She was a real people person who enjoyed a good conversation. She had a great affinity for animals and she will be sadly missed by her feline friend Sylvester. Flore was devoted to her loving family especially her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren in whom she took great pride and interest in their activities and accomplishments. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Dr. G. Bakker and his assistant Marion for their excellent care and support over the years. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Prayers in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Friday, January 8th, 2010 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Civic Cemetery.
