In loving memory of René Hector Giroux 87 years. It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing at his residence in Hanmer on Thursday, December 30th, 2021. Beloved husband of 68 years to Joan (nee Grenier). Loving father of Helen (Leo predeceased), Monique (Guy), Suzanne, Richard (Joanne), Cookie (Gaetan), Luc (Nana), Lynne and predeceased by Diane and Laurier (Joanne). He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Guy, Paul, Lise, Julie, Lee-Anne predeceased, Angela, Natalie, Shane, Patrick, Joey, Marc, Diane, Eric, Danielle, Pascale, Joyce, and Renée and his 19 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Louis and Josephine Giroux (nee LeBlanc), as well as 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his sisters Reina Labelle and Dora Favaro, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was a dear brother-in-law to the Grenier Family. Rene was a pensioner at Falconbridge and his passion was trucking for Houle Haulage. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice, as well as Bayshore.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Jacques Church 46 Cote Blvd, Hanmer on Thursday, January 6th, 2022 at 11 am. Face masks are mandatory. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with internment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
