It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Hubert Gosselin in Sudbury, Friday, May 7th, 2021 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of Sharon Gosselin (née Rush) of 53 years. Son of the late Joseph and the late Yvonne (née St-Père) Gosselin. Loving father of Sherry Coppo (Ian) of Chatham, Nancy Gosselin (Ron) of Sudbury and Cindy Pilotte (Mike) of Garson. Dear brother of Alice Shaw (late Nelson “Buck”) of Kukagami. Predeceased by his siblings Carmel Haggart (late Clinton “Red”), Lucille Lanteigne (late Valier), Remi (late Ellen), Roland (Eila of Garson), Gabriel (Claudette of Coniston) and Robert. Dear brother-in-law to Ron & Elsie Rush of Fonthill, and Marilyn Clarke (late Roy) of Elliot Lake. Cherished grandfather of Sarah Gosselin (Jason), Andrea Coppo, Brianna Coppo (Shawn), Katie and Tessa Pilotte and special addition Levi. Grandpa was always their number one fan in the stands when his grandchildren participated in any sporting event. Hubert will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered as “Gus” & “Hubie”, he was active in all sports from playing to coaching and always wore #22. He was the proud owner operator of Hubert Gosselin Contracting, installing flooring, and doing general construction for decades. He was always your first call for advice when tackling a home improvement project and was a mentor to many friends. He was a lifelong resident of the Coniston Community and a dedicated Montreal Canadians fan. His passion will live on with his girls and grandchildren forever. Go Habs Go! The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the nurses on the 5th Floor South Tower at Health Sciences North, for their wonderful care towards him. A celebration of life will be held at the Colonial Inn in Coniston when it is safe to do so. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd.
