John Harrison Hersey

Died peacefully at Health Sciences North after a brave battle with cancer.
John is survived by his wife Sirkka.
John was born to Harrison and Kathleen Hersey (both pre-deceased) in Lakeside, Halifax County, Nova Scotia. Siblings Melborne, George, Danny, and Shirley were pre-deceased. John is survived by sisters Marion, Mona (Junior), and his brother Robert (Debbie).
John is also survived by his son John Jr. and three granddaughters, Breah, Amanda, and Sarrah.
In 1973 John left Nova Scotia for Ontario, eventually settling in the Sudbury area, where he met and married Sirkka. They built a home in St. Charles where they remained until the present.
An avid outdoorsman all his life, John remained active until the end.
