It is with great sadness that the family of Ryan Neil Iles announces his passing. Ryan unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Sudbury on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at the far too young age of 30 years.
Surviving Ryan are his parents Lonnie and Robin of Cottam and Joanne and Daniel of Sudbury. He will be greatly missed by his brothers Eric, Ryan and Dusty and his sisters Marisa and Kaitlin as well as his grandmother Madeleine “Mama” of New Liskeard and Clem and Judy of Essex. Ryan is proceeded in death by his grandparents Neil Iles “Red” and Sharon “Nana” and Claude “Papa” Legault.
All who knew Ryan remember him for being loyal and genuine with his family and friends. He was always thinking of others before himself and had a tremendously deep compassion and love for animals, especially our family pets Flasher and Atticus. Ryan was passionate about music, spending countless hours teaching himself to play the guitar and loved researching and adding to his extensive record collection. He was very serious about his football (Shawam48). He played numerous seasons during high school for the Cardinal Carter Cougars where he made lasting friendships with many who he considered brothers during the happiest times in his life. Ryan also played varsity for the Essex Ravens, his passion and commitment was unmatched when it came to football. An easy-going humorous person off the field, the same could not be said if you were to meet him on the gridiron. He was a lifetime Buccaneers fan, never wavering in his support-- even during the Brady trade.
The last seven years of his life Ryan struggled with genetic kidney disease. Throughout this period, Ryan remained positive and upbeat. In 2019, he received a kidney transplant from his stepmother Robin and was looking forward to a dialysis free future, opening a new chapter in his life.
His parents would like to thank all those people who helped to mould Ryan into the wonderful and caring person that he was especially his favourite Aunts Cindy and Monica and his Nana and Mama who were always his biggest fans and who he adored. And those who made Ryan’s short life fulfilled especially his cousins Amanda, Derek, Corey, Tyler and Amber and his dearest friend and brother Cody.
