In Loving Memory of Isabel Elizabeth Jeffrey, 97 years. Peacefully on Friday, October 16th, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Villa, Sudbury.
Beloved daughter of Thomas and Victoria (Lizotte) Jeffrey both predeceased. Loving sister of Rita Levert (husband Fred) both predeceased and Lillian Ward (husband Murray) both predeceased. Cherished aunt of Gerald Levert, Diane Bowman (husband David), Cathryn Lewis, Darlene Herman (husband Don), Sheila Koivuranta (husband Bruce), Colleen Aksela (husband Jouni), great aunt to Carol-Anne Falconi (husband David), Linda Mercier (husband Tom), Suzanne Bowman, Mark Levert (Joan), Karen Levert, Alexander Levert, Tara Lewis (Mitch), and Kelley Jones (Brent), and great great aunt to Julianne, Alyson, Alyssa, Samantha, Keanna, Martin, Cohen, Jai, Freya and Viv.
Isabel Jeffrey was born and raised in Sudbury. She began her long career in the health field working with the Grey Nuns at St. Joseph’s Hospital. As Distribution Supervisor, she transferred and opened her department in the newly built Laurentian Hospital. She received many accolades when she reached 50 years of service. Her enthusiasm, work ethic, and dedication to helping others continued until her later retirement at age 69. She then filled her days with volunteering at the hospital, various duties in her apartment complex, travelling, and listening to her favourite music. She had many talents which included baking, sewing, gardening, and keeping up with the Royals. A real fashionista, she was always dressed impeccably. Above all, Isabel was happiest spending time with family and friends. Her final years were spent at St. Joseph’s Villa where staff loved her like family. She continued her strong faith at the chapel, and participated in sing-a-longs and activities. Her wisdom, smile, laughter, and tender heart will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Special gratitude to the health care workers and staff at St. Joseph’s Villa.
Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, (Friends may call after 12noon Friday). Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 30 Beech St., Sudbury, Friday, October 23rd, 2020 at 2pm. Interment in the Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Health Sciences North Foundation, St. Joseph’s Villa or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
