Karen G. Kett-Simmons passed away peacefully at home on January 19th surrounded by family & friends.

Though she had many passions including gardening, reading, golfing, and assisting within the community and church; family was the deepest love of her life. Richard (Rick) Simmons was her beloved spouse of 61 years, the ultimate example of a wonderful marriage. She was a truly cherished mother of Kim, Heather, Rebecca (predeceased), Matthew (Ivana Crupi), and Lissa. Karen so enjoyed her time with her grandchildren Alicia, Zacharias, Aaron, Katrina, Katelyn, Kurtis, and Matteo; and later, her great-grandchildren: Aubrie, Ryleigh, Lucy, Jude, Octavia, Bella Anne, and Brooklyn.

Karen’s mothering did not end with her biological children, she was the long-time ‘mother,’ in every definition of the word, to Mark Berzins (predeceased) and Robert Gnoinski.

She was the daughter of Gerald and Irene (Gordon) Kett, sister to Ronald (predeceased), Janice Holditch (Doug), and Deborah Beers (Mike). A strong bond of sisterhood held with her sisters for all her days.

She was quite grateful for all her friendships in her life, she had a special affection over the last couple of decades for her dear friend Valerie Smith.

Karen always saw the best in everyone, cared deeply, laughed often, and thus will be missed by so many.

A private Celebration of Life has been held. In leu of flowers, please do as Karen had done all her life and support a charity of your choice.
