It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the death of Harold Komarechka after a brief but brave battle with cancer.
He will be forever loved by Janet, his wife of 57 years, daughter Kimberly Kmit (Jim) and his grandson Andrew Komarechka (Laura). We know his son Danny was waiting to take him fishing as he left us to join him. He will also be greatly missed by his siblings,
Don Komarechka (Bea), Gordon Komar (predeceased), Diane Bingham (Ken) and Bob Komarechka (Helen), as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Harold worked as a Geologist at Falconbridge for 30 years and was a proud union activist with USW Local 6855, serving as Steward, Joint Job Evaluation Committee member and on the Bargaining Committee.
Family was so important to him, and when his children were young, he and Janet made sure weekends were family time. Sunday drives down the most remote country roads, just to see what was there, cross country skiing, fishing, skating and games made for the very best childhood memories. We will miss his sense of humour, easygoing nature and his beautiful smile.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, a Celebration of Life will take place at a time when friends and family are able to gather. Cremation Services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
