In loving memory of our Mom and Baba, Eugenie “Jeannie” Kurchak-Faught, who passed away peacefully in her home in Sudbury, Ontario after 74 years spent in loving dedication to her family and friends. The daughter of Katherine Kurchak-Wells (predeceased) and Eugene Kurchak (predeceased), Jeannie will be incredibly missed by her family:, Clinton Faught (his wife, Jenny and their children Kasey and Jordan); her daughter Tanya John (her husband, Jason and their children Abbey and Liam); her son Michael Faught (his wife, Rosanna, and their children Nicholas and Logan), and her son Matthew Faught (and his wife, Angela). Jeannie will also be missed by sisters Mildred Perkovich (husband Andre, predeceased), Linda Rample (husband Ed), and brothers Danny Kurchak (wife Ida), and Steven, as well as by her cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family, and friends. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Jeannie’s friend, Connie Botrell. We are so grateful for your help with our mom.

Jeannie lived her life driven by her generous heart. She spent most of her career working in hospitality and in caring for the needs of others. An avid reader, she also loved to travel, and above all things, to cook for the people she loved. She was the kind of person who made you feel welcome and special the moment you came into her home. Jeannie loved her family. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, providing selfless, unconditional love and generosity to them. Nothing brought her more joy than scheduled nights watching movies and eating chips and pop with her grandchildren. She honoured every birthday celebration, every anniversary, and made every event she hosted and attended special. We will miss her Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, her homemade perogies and cabbage rolls, her “dippity-do” eggs and Mickey Mouse pancakes. Jeannie was loved deeply and will be missed so much by all of us.

A funeral service in Jeannie’s honour will be live-streamed to family and friends on Friday, May 29th, 2020 at 2pm from the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, which can be viewed at: https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=159060705360940. The family asks that those wishing to remember Jeannie and celebrate her life donate to the Canadian Diabetes Association in her honour.
