Lacasse, Yvon (1939-2023)
It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Yvon Lacasse in Sudbury, Saturday January 21st 2023, at the age of 83 years. Son of the late Irenée Lacasse and of the late Ida Wagner. Predeceased by his wife Laurence Lacasse (née Mathieu). Dear father of Manon Lacasse (Marcel), Steve Lacasse (Stella) and Carole Forcier (Serge). He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered as "Moose" by his grandchildren Shanelle (Matthew), Kyle (Manon), Chase (Kira), Shyanne, Marshall, Chandra, and his great-grandchildren Levi and Luc. Also survived by his brother Larry Lacasse and his beloved sister Yollande Boucher (late Laurier). Predeceased by his sisters Angéline Boucher and Ghislaine Desroches (Ti Jean). Also missed by his brothers in law Marcel Mathieu (Chantale), Gilles Mathieu (Marylee), Ovide Mathieu (Diane), Alphonse (Marie), and his niece Barb Boucher. Yvon will always be remembered by his very good friend and best buddy Denis Cotnoir.
Retired from Glencore, Yvon loved the outdoors and sitting by the fire. Hunting and fishing were his passions. He was an excellent craftsman in woodworking and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Yvon was a devoted husband to his wife Laurence for 45 years. He adored his children and had a special place in his heart for his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
