Richard (Rick) Martin Joseph Laface
April 10, 1949 – July 25, 2021

A long-time resident of Sudbury, ON, with a 13-year stint on Manitoulin Island, Richard passed away suddenly at his residence with his wife by his side, at the age of 72 years. He was born in Uxbridge, ON, son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Ruby) (nee Browne) Laface. Dearly beloved husband of Mazie (Moore), loving father of Yvonne (Bonni) (Richard Deschamps), Annette (Mike Panzani), Richard (Kari Huntington), Cynthia (predeceased) (Marty Regimbald). Proud grandfather of Kristopher, Kyle, Harleigh, Korey, Kaitlyn, Ricky (Petranella), Cameron (Brooke), Dextin (predeceased), Kelsey, Michael, Brandon (Anna), Justin, Cassandra (Dominic). Cherished great-grandfather to Dakotah, Christian, Benjamin, Cynthia, Kylie, Kaiden, Kaleb, Mikeala, Liam, Alesandro, Rylee, Kaleigh, Adeline, Auston, Beau, and Xavier. Dear brother of Lynda (Claude), Kathy (Allan), Beth, Margaret (Garth), Greg, Joseph (Beth), Debra (Gary-predeceased), Patricia, Nancy (Brent), Denise (Rick). Dear brother-in-law to Albert -predeceased (Gladys); Gloria (Bert) both predeceased; Donna (Hugh); Billy (Bonnie) both predeceased; Doug predeceased (Jane); Gerald (Sindy); Leonard (Charlene predeceased); Barbara (Bob) both predeceased; Phyllis (Karl); Lori (Larry); Larry (Donna); Robert (Donna); David (Nicole). Richard is also survived by countless generations of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Richard worked in the mines until an accident forced him to resign. He then had the pleasure of helping the needy as a truck driver for the Blue Door Café (previously Catholic Charities Soup Kitchen) for many years. He and Mazie retired to Manitowaning, ON and enjoyed sitting on his front patio watching the action on Queen Street. He also loved to tinker with small engines, bake bread and was famous for his baked beans. He was an honourable, selfless man with a knack for quirky and sarcastic remarks. Richard will be missed by many, but his memories will be fondly cherished by all who had the

great pleasure to know and love him. Friends may call at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street in Sudbury on Monday August 2, 2021, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a short service to follow in the R.J. Barnard chapel at 2pm.
