LALONDE, Yvon Charles Norman (1940 – 2025)
It is with profound sadness that the family of Yvon Charles Norman Lalonde announces his peaceful passing in Espanola on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the age of 84 years.
Yvon was the beloved son of the late Lionel Lalonde and the late Alice Lalonde (née Champagne). He leaves behind the love of his life, Laurenza Lalonde (née St. Germain), his devoted wife of 50 years, with whom he renewed his vows last May—a beautiful testament to their enduring love.
He will be forever missed by his cherished daughter, Suzanne Lalonde-Hull (Murray), his beloved son, Ivan Lalonde, and his treasured grandchildren, Lilli, Logan and Ben, who brought immense joy to his life.
Yvon is survived by his dear sisters Yvette Dupuis (late Valmore), Denise Séquin (late Réjean), and Etoila Leclair (late Raymond). He was predeceased by his brothers Léopold, Sylvio (late Brenda), and Armand (Pauline). He was also deeply loved by his late mother-in-law, Jacqueline St-Germain, and father-in-law, Romeo St-Germain. Yvon will be lovingly remembered by his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Yvon had a generous spirit and a heart full of love. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and cherished spending time with his family, whether fishing, hunting, playing cards, or sharing stories. He also enjoyed reading and watching westerns. Yvon’s sharp sense of humor and constant teasing brought laughter and smiles to everyone around him.
Prior to his retirement, Yvon worked for the City of Sudbury, specializing in Roads, Sewer, and Water Maintenance and Service. He was well-respected for his dedication and hard work.
Yvon’s warmth, kindness, and boundless love touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His presence will leave a void that can never be filled, but his memory will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
A funeral mass will take place Thursday January 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Saint Alexander Church in Chelmsford followed by a light lunch.
