LANGSTAFF, Joan - In loving memory of Joan Langstaff (nee Smith) at the age of 76 years who passed away peacefully at the SRH-Laurentian Site surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born January 8th, 1933 in Sudbury, Ontario, daughter of the late Ray and Mae Smith. Predeceased by her husband Leonard “Benny“ Langstaff (March 15th, 1985). Loving mother of Brenda (Michael) Gillis of Cartier, Cindy (Myles) O'Bumsawin of Moonbeam, Kim (Russell) Nerpin of Borden and Sherry (Michael) Laffrenier of Sudbury. Predeceased by two infant daughters Susan and Wendy. Much loved grandmother of Gary, Kerri (Michael), Ryan, Kurtis (Cynthia), Amanda, Ashley (Dana), Amie (Eric), Andrea (Ray), Braxton and Carson. Great-grandmother of Kaitlyn, Keegan, Ryley, Riana, Tristan and Peyton. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Agnes Sarlo (late Howdy) and Mae (Don) Thornton. Predeceased by her brother Clifford (late Janet). She will be fondly remembered by Mel Coté, as well as her many nieces and nephews and families. Joan was long-time resident of Onaping, before moving to Sudbury in 2007. She enjoyed spending her time with family, Bible Study and Church groups, sewing for the missions, knitting and crossword puzzles. She will be remembered for her love of life and determined attitude. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Drs. Noble, Andronowski and MacMillan, as well as the nursing staff of the SRH-Laurentian Site, 4th floor, for their kindness and care given to Joan. Funeral Service In the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Saturday, July 25th, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation with interment in the Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre or the Gideon Bibles would be appreciated.
