LASZUTKO, WANDA (nee Bartz) October 2, 1929 - November 20, 2020.  Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Wanda, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, on Friday, November 20th, at the age of 91. She now joins her beloved husband Michael Laszutko (1993).

Wanda was a loving and devoted mother to Ed (Terry), Henry (Josie), and Doris (Robert);a cherished grandmother to Kaitlynn and Jonathan (Naomi), Andrew, Amanda, and Mark, and Tyler (Miranda), Rebecca (Chris), and Teddy; and proud great-grandmother of Ryker, June, and Robert.  We are all immensely grateful to God for having blessed us with such a beautiful and faith-filled family matriarch.

Wanda will also be fondly remembered and missed by other family and friends in Canada including her sister Irene, sister-in-law Sophie, and nieces Lucy and Anne, nephews Harry, Rick, and Edward, step-grandsons Derek (Vicki) and Nicholas, and step-great grandchildren  Kazumi, Vaeda, and Lucas.

Wanda was the youngest of 10 children and spent her early life on the family farm close to the Polish village of WolaBrevalenska.  She survived the turbulent years of WWII, immigrated to Canada in 1949 with the help of her late brother Alfred, and sponsored her sister Irene two years later.Wanda met her future husband Michael at a Polish dance in Sudbury and they married soon after.  She worked for many years as a custodian at Sudbury Secondary and retired in 1994.In her later years Wanda became known as Grandma to many through her warm smile and generous heart.  Her cabbage rolls, dumpling soup, and pierogi were second to none.

The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Katherine Richardson for the compassionate care Wanda received at home in her final weeks.
