In loving memory of Ronald “Ron” Joseph Lavigne 82 years. Passed away at Health Sciences North on Wednesday, July 29th, 2020.
Words from Ron - “I’m sitting in my boat fishing, thinking about the day I proposed to a beautiful young lady in the summer of 1961. To my wife Madeleine, you are the love my life and I will miss you. I was so in love with you when I asked for your hand in marriage. My only regret is that the proposal should have been done the moment I first saw you.  We were married on April 23rd, 1962 and after 58 years of marriage, our love grew stronger with each passing day. We have a beautiful family, our children Richard (wife Karen), Diane and Denis (wife Kelly). One day Diane told us she was pregnant and now I’m a grandfather “Pepere” of 8; Thomas, Jennifer, Daniel, Kyle, Miranda, Justin, Alexandria and Therese and my two great grand kids Ameah and Coral. Being a Pepere was truly a blessing. In 1985, I retired from INCO, and had more time to go fishing and hunting with my family. Now there’s a nice pike in my hands, and the pickerel is biting also. So, don’t cry for me I’m doing one of my best pass time.  When my grandson Thomas was very young, we where going to camp at Threecorner lake. Thomas was not able to stay still for any length of time and he would jump up and down in the truck, the next thing you know he hit the windshield and cracked it. When we went bird hunting, Richard and Kyle were on the same bike and Kyle fell asleep. I came and hide behind them and pushed the bike along until Kyle opened his eyes. These are some of my memories that my family gave me. Some of the best times were in my lazy boy chair when all my grand kids would sit with me. I didn’t say I love you very often but words can’t explain the love I have for my family. To my sons and daughter; there aren’t words to explain having you in my life has brought me so much pleasure and my love for you is endless. To my grand children, it has given me so much joy to see all of you grow into young ladies and gentleman and the memories that we have are cherished, my love for all you is eternal. Remembering all our memories start with Madeleine because she said yes to marry me. Did I have a good life you ask? I had an amazing life full of love and I wouldn’t change any part of it. Madeleine I will see you again hopefully not to soon. Please take your time and enjoy all the minutes with our family they still need you.” - Ron
