GÉRALD “GERRY” ARTHUR LEBLANC
March 10, 1941 – July 12, 2024
In loving memory of Gérald “Gerry” Leblanc, who passed away on July 12th, 2024, reuniting with the love of his life of 60 years, Pauline.
Missing him with all their hearts are his daughters Michelle, Nicole (Troy Sime), and Sylvie, his grandchildren Andrea, Erik (Amber), Brandon, Kaily (Joe), Riley, and Caelan, and his great-grandchildren Eren, Joseph, John, and Ivory.
Son of Émile and Rolande Leblanc (both predeceased), brother to Claudette (Eugene Clarke), and Roger (predeceased).
Gerry was first and foremost a family man. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he cherished his family and their happiness, prioritizing his loved ones above all else. Nothing brought him more joy than his family. His love was always unconditional and his support unwavering.
He was a quiet, thoughtful man with a great sense of humour. Always the jokester, he enjoyed making people laugh, even if at his own expense.
Gerry proudly dedicated 35 years of his life to Canada Post, cherishing the people and relationships he built during his tenure. After retiring, he and his beloved wife Pauline embarked on a new adventure as entrepreneurs, becoming the proud proprietors of Huckleberries Chocolatiers for a decade. The business was Gerry’s pride and joy, a place where he could truly showcase his creative talents.
Gerry had a deep love for the outdoors. He found great peace in nature, whether fishing in his favourite spots, most notably Lake Wanapitei and Crooked Lake, camping, tending to his yard, or sitting in his gazebo. The outdoors was his haven, where he felt most at ease and truly content.
He was also an avid sports fan, with a passion for football, curling, and hockey. He spent years competing in local curling with his closest friends and teammates, and when it came to hockey, it was Canadiens all the way! For those that remember those years, let’s not forget the epic shuffleboard tournaments at home with family and friends, where hours were spent in mostly friendly competition, with so much laughter. Many memories were created during these special times.
We would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Manor where he spent the last 4 ½ years of his life, for your compassionate care. You gave him the gift of dignity to the very end and for this we are forever thankful.
At Gerry’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay & Districts or the charity of your choice are appreciated. In lieu of a service, the family asks that you keep your memories of Gerry close and treasure them, as we are most certainly doing.
As his daughters and grandchildren reflect back on all the wonderful memories, we owe him an
immense debt of gratitude. For the opportunity to be in his orbit all of these years. He would argue that it was truly the other way around – but we know better. The common sentiment shared by all: how lucky are we to have had Gerry in our lives! Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Cremation Service.
