LEMELIN, Pierre

It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing, in Sudbury, Friday, June 26, 2020, at the age of 86 years. Beloved and loving husband of Léa (née Brosseau) Lemelin with whom he shared 60 years and 11 months of marriage. Son of the late Albert and Alphonsine (née Lajoie) Lemelin. Loving father of Lise (Paul Morrissette), Diane (Larry Ranger), Rhéal (Wendy), Albert (Angèle), Nicole (Robert Charron) and Chantal (Kevin MacDougall). Predeceased by all of his siblings. He will be sadly missed by his special niece Céline (Léonard Kirouac) of Rivière-du-Loup, Québec. Cherished and adored Pépére/Pépé of Samantha, Kyle, Justin, Chelsey, Denis, Jessica, Marc and Chanelle-Lise. He was a very proud great grand-pépé to Braelyn and Kaden. Pierre worked at CP Rail and Inco for many years. He lived most of his life in Cartier and was very happy to be heavily involved within his community. He loved to joke around with everyone and his smile always lit up the room. Pierre was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Mgr. Adolphe Proulx Assembly. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11 a.m. at St-Joseph Church, Chelmsford. Père bien-aimé de Lise (Paul Morrisette), Diane (Larry Ranger), Rhéal (Wendy), Albert (Angèle), Nicole (Robert Charron) et Chantal (Kevin MacDougall). Prédécédé par tous ses frères et sœurs. Il laisse dans le deuil sa nièce spéciale Céline (Léonard Kirouac). Cher pépére/pépé de Samantha, Kyle, Justin, Chelsey, Denis, Jessica, Marc, Chanelle-Lise. Fier arrière-grand-père de Braelyn et de Kaden. Pierre a travaillé chez CP Rail et INCO pendant de nombreuses années. Il a vécu une grande partie de sa vie à Cartier où il était grandement impliqué au sein de sa communauté. Il aimait rire et son sourire illuminait toujours la salle. Pierre était membre du 4e degré des Chevaliers de Colomb, assemblée de Mgr Adolphe Proulx. À sa demande il n’y aura aucune visite. Une messe funéraire aura lieu jeudi le 2 juillet 2020 à 11 h à la paroisse St-Joseph, Chelmsford. En raison de la pandémie et de ses restrictions, une limite de cent personnes sera imposée.
