1931 – 2020

In loving memory of Glen Macartney (nee Adams), who passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of Sheldon Macartney (predeceased 2003). Loving mother of 3 adored children: Vicki Pen (predeceased 2018)(husband Claudio Pen predeceased 2019), Stuart Macartney (wife Paulette), and Scott Macartney (Lynne). Cherished grandmother to Vicki’s boys, Adam, Aaron, Andrew, and Scott’s girls Katie (Paul) and Natalie (Scott). Adored great-grandmother to Steven, Jayden, Rylie, and Max. Special stepsister-in-law to Patsy and Lanny Cullum both predeceased, Rose Mary Aubrey (Ron predeceased) and especially to Jane and Guy Keown, who have always been more than in-laws, but great friends. Glen’s family also included her sister Colleen Price (George Price) both predeceased, and their three boys, Steven (Patti), Gordon (Helen), and Bob (Christine), who live out west but always came to visit her in Sudbury and spent great quality time together. They are dearly loved by Glen and all her family.
Glen was always a very happy and positive person; she was raised in Copper Cliff and lived in Sudbury after her marriage to Sheldon – which was the night of Hurricane Hazel in 1954. When her children were raised, she worked as a medical secretary. In her later years, she spent winters in Florida with Sheldon or traveling Canada in the summer. In 1995, Glen and Sheldon moved to a lovely large apartment, where from then on, all the future parties and family gatherings would be held. Glen really enjoyed her Tuesday and Thursday bridge games in the party room of her apartment. Special thanks to Betty Anne from Bayshore, Tammy from V.O.N., and Danielle Drouin from the Hospice.
At Glen’s request, after cremation there will be a graveside prayer at the family plot in Park Lawn Cemetery, where her parents, husband, and daughter rest. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home, www.lougheed.org.
