MacMillan, Patricia (née Cooney) (1936-2023)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia “Pat” MacMillan at Pioneer Manor, Thursday April 13th 2023, at 86 years. Daughter of the late Thomas Cooney and of the late Delia Cooney (née Ducharme). Predeceased by her loving husband Myrle MacMillan. Cherished mother of James (Doris), George (Francine), Ramona (Ron) and the late Angela. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Melissa, Alex, Shannan, Jillian, Delia, Carly and her great-grandchildren Kadence, Ariyah, Emily, Kai, and Valencia. She will also be missed by Silvio Orsini and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family. Predeceased by her brothers Meldrum and Melvin.

Pat was born June 3rd 1936, exactly seven years after her sister and best friend Iona. A long-time resident of Falconbridge, Pat was a loving, accepting, and light-hearted person. She loved her family and friends dearly. Pat was a wonderful exemplification of what it means to “just be yourself” without worrying about what others thought. She was bold yet filled with kindness. She was known for her admirable ability to always see the bright side of things. The power of her positivity shone brightly through her personality and easily left a mark on those who were lucky enough to know her. She certainly knew how to share in laughter with those around her.

Pat loved music and playing cards. She was often found singing and dancing wherever she went. Truly, that was part of her charm. We’re sure she’s getting her dancing shoes on up there already.

Forever in our hearts.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Manor for the excellent support and great care taken of our mother the last 9 years.

There will be no funeral service, but a Celebration of Life will take place May 27th 2023 from 1pm-4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 336, 66 Edison Rd, Falconbridge, Ontario. Cremation services entrusted to Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
