In loving memory of Catherine Mac Neil who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Health Sciences North on October 5, 2021 at age 88. Beloved wife of Daniel Mac Neil (predeceased), Loving Mother of Karen (Barry predeceased), Stephen (Sue), Wayne (Susanne)and Donna (Jim). Cherished Grandmother of Brian, Johnathan, Kristen, Scott, Daniel, Sylvia, James and Allen. Great grand mother of Greyson, Kiera, Adeline, Zoe, Nolan, Zoe, Theo, Kai and Evelyn. Daughter of Roderick and Margaret Mac Neil (predeceased). Dear sister to 4 brothers and 4 sisters (predeceased). Catherine was born in Cape Breton in 1933, settled in Sudbury in 1955 and married the love of her life Daniel in 1956. She was a loving and supportive wife for 52 years. She was a caring and compassionate mother; her family was everything. She was a wonderful person who always put everyone first, and always seen the good in people. Her Roman Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. Her grandchildren were her source of joy and pride. She was lovingly known as GG by her great grandchildren. She will be truly missed but never forgotten. Memorial Mass at St. Kevins Church, 4610 St. Therese St., Val Therese on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 am, followed by private family burial. Friends may gather at the church after 10:30am Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arthritis Society or the Heart and Stroke in memory of Catherine.
