MALETTE, Ed

In loving memory of Ed Mallette who passed away on Sunday, October 10th, 2021 at Health Sciences North at the age of 83 after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure and dementia. Beloved husband of Anna Maki. Loving and proud father of Deb (Doug), Karen (Ed), James (Vicki), Robert, Michael, John, David, Melissa, Paul (predeceased), and stepfather to Melanie (Karl). Cherished grandfather of Eric (Kristi), Steve, Jeff, Brad, Gracey, Elin and Aila and great grandfather to Layla.

Ed worked 59 years in the real estate industry starting with Ed Mallette Real Estate, then formed Mallette-Goring and his last few years were with Royal Lepage. A committed worker, he was still going into the office until he was 82. In his spare time, you could find him out on the water in his boat. An avid pool player, he played the game for over 60 years and treasured the friendships he cultivated. Ed was a real family man having raised 9 kids and his grandchildren were the light of his life, including his step grandchildren who he considered his own. His giving nature extended a helping hand that went to anyone who needed it.

Funeral prayers in the R. J. Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Saturday, October 16th, 2021 at 1pm. Friends may gather Friday from 4-8pm and after 12pm on Saturday. Reception to follow at the Caruso Club. If desired, donations to the Sick Children’s Hospital or Neo Kids would be appreciated.
