Signe Elizabeth Malinen (nee Keranen) was born in Whitefish, Ontario in 1927, and passed away at York Extendicare on October 11, 2021. She led a fulfilling life in the Sudbury district. Signe was married for over sixty years to Armas Malinen (1924- 2009), and together they raised a happy family and pursued their dreams. She was an active member of the Finnish community, worshipping at St. Matthews Lutheran Church and participating in the charity work of the Ladies of Kaleva. In her working career she was employed as a clerk at Falconbridge Nickel Mines but later began her own small business and even taught at Cambrian College. Her passions were dance and travel, and her favorite memory, waltzing with Armas in a Vienna Garden. Signe is survived by three children; Allan, Linda and David; five grand-children; Wyatt, Colin, KelleyAnne, Maija and Jennifer; and eight great-grandchildren; Mackenzie, Eva, Thea, Augusta Rose, William, Michael, Dexter and Johann. Rest in Peace mother. We will miss you. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
