Mattson, Bertha

MATTSON, Bertha (née Lauttamus) - The family announces with sorrow her death in Sudbury, on September 5, 2009 at the age of 91 years. Daughter of the late Gus and of the late Lydia Lauttamus. Wife of the late Eli Mattson. Bertha leaves behind her cherished sister Julie (late Emil) Mattson of Sudbury. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Mary, John, Ray, Sylvia, Lillian and Edna. She will be lovingly remembered as Auntie Bo-bo to many nieces and nephews. Bertha was very proud of her work at Supreme Aluminum. Those who knew her well would agree that she was a great example of Sisu. A Ladies Auxiliary member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 503, Onaping Falls, the golden age club, and a volunteer driver for the Red Cross, Bertha also found time to be an avid bowler, cribbage player, as well as enjoying many crafts. Thank you to the staff at Extendicare Falconbridge for their years of excellent care. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE Funeral Home (4691, R.R.# 15, Chelmsford) Monday September 14, 2009 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, Chelmsford. Donations to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (by cheque only) would be appreciated by the family.
