It is with great sorrow that the family of June Theresa McDonald (MacDonald) announces her passing, after a brief battle with cancer, on Friday, November 13, 2020.
Daughter of the late Alex and Ruth MacDonald, and beloved wife of Emerson (predeceased).
Loving mother to J.A. Sandy (Linda) of Sudbury, Glenn (Diana) of Lindsay, Bruce (Connie) of Falconbridge, and Brenda of Ottawa.
Grandmother to Christina, Emerson, Alex, Ian, Colin, Stephanie, Samantha, Cameron, Sara, Matthew, and Jonathan.
G.g. ma to Maddy, Avery, Grace, Aliyah, Seran, Mathew, Sage, Teanna, Rory, and Maverick.
She is also survived by her brother Eric (Lorrie), Sister Dianne Geith (Art), and sister in law Carmen.
Pre-deceased by her brothers Kenyan and Brian, Sister Iris Orlando, and brother in law Frank Orlando.
Mom took great pride as a nurse on the maternity floor at the Sudbury General Hospital for over 25 years, and being a lifelong member of the C.W.L.
She was never happier than when she was with family at a Celtic gathering or listening to Highland music, especially the bagpipes.
The family would like to thank the very caring doctors and nurses of the Emergency and 4th floor at Health Sciences North. Mom was very impressed with their professionalism and team work. She was well taken care of during her one month stay in hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Mental Health Association, St. John’s Cemetery in Garson, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Garson at 1 pm on Saturday, November 28, 2020. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to family only. Her children look forward to hosting a Celebration of Life at a later date.
