Peacefully, Thursday, November 26th, 2020 at Finlandia Village, Sudbury.

Beloved wife of William Turner predeceased 1960 and Norman McNichol predeceased 1988. Loving mother of Debbie Turner, Sandy Turner, Patsy Reeve (Andrew), Shirley Graham (Tim), Christine Chretien (Serge), Carolyn LePage (Denis), Mike Turner (Linda), Rick Turner (Diane) and stepson Donald McNichol (predeceased). Cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Dear daughter of Ford and Mary (Hill) Townsend both predeceased. Dear sister of Marg Townsend.

Phyllis was a dedicated teacher for 31 years, retiring in 1987. She was active in many organizations including Senior Citizen Bowling League, Ottawa Valley Club, Renaissance Sudbury, Caruso Golden Age Club, and Retired Women Teachers of Ontario, and she enjoyed line dancing. A devout Roman Catholic, she belonged to Holy Redeemer Church and was a life member of the parish CWL. Phyllis will be remembered as a kind and caring person who was quick to help others.

The family expresses their appreciation to the Finlandia Village family for their excellent care, support, and friendship.

Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Friends may call 2-5pm Sunday. Funeral Mass in Holy Redeemer Church, 1887 Bancroft Dr., Sudbury, Monday, November 30th, 2020 at 10am. Interment in the family plot at the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic Directives, 50 people or fewer are permitted in the visitation room and the church. Face masks are mandatory. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Finlandia SISU Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
