Meawasige, A. Kurt

In Loving Memory of Kurt Allen Meawasige at 64 years young passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2020 at Sudbury Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of 40 years to Charlotte Meawasige (nee Wabegijig). Father of Kevin Meawasige, Craig Meawasige (Erica), Rochelle Meawasige (Trevor). A proud grandfather to Kasia, Peyton, Destiny, Carson, Camryn, Linden, Laurence, Gabriel and CJ Son to Beatrice (nee Oskaboose) and Cecil Meawasige (predeceased). Loving brother to Ken Meawasige, Karen Meawasige, Denis Meawasige, Robert (Bob) Meawasige. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and Family. Kurt was a family man and an avid outdoors man, who loved fishing, walking, snowshoeing, and would rather stay outdoors than be indoors. You could often find him sitting under his favorite tree listening to his radio. He was a handy man who loved tinkering with small engines. He loved to laugh and make others laugh with his quick wit and humor. During his spare time you would often find him at home doing crosswords, Sudoku and other word games. He was always there to help out others when they needed it. In his younger days, he went to Sri Lanka and India for Humanitarian work. He was an experienced beader and leather worker, also learned how to pound ash and prepare the ash for baskets. He also worked at Woodland Printers for 17 years as a silk screener, printer, and maintenance worker and worked in the dark room. We will be having a celebration of life during the summer.
