MELANSON, George

It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing in Sudbury, Ontario on Thursday September 14th, 2023 at the age of 78 years after a prolonged illness. Son of the late Valerie and late Flora (née Gautreau) Melanson. Loving husband of over 55 years to his beloved wife Murielle Melanson (née LeBlanc). Dear father to Michelle George (late Chris). Cherished grandfather to Samuel and Rebecca George. Brother of Ann Corrigan (late Jack) and Francis Melanson. George was born and raised in New Brunswick until he and Murielle relocated to Sudbury to be closer to their grandchildren. He worked at Sumner Tire and R.K Buzzells as a sales rep in Moncton, NB. He loved his work and work family, it gave him joy socializing, meeting new people and telling his jokes each day. He will be sadly missed by relatives and friends. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at York Extendicare for taking great care of him during these last few months. In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to his charity of choice by cheque or online to the Sudbury Food Bank.
