MESSIER, Lucien - The family announces with sorrow, his death in Sudbury, August 25, 2009 at the age of 80 years. Son of the late Stanislas and of the late Laura Eva (née Leblanc) Messier. Beloved husband of Yvette Messier (née Bourcier) of Sudbury. Loving father of Claude Messier (Diane) and Colette Clément (Rhéal) both of Sudbury. Dear brother of Marie Laure Allarie (late Adolph) of Kirkand Lake, Jean Jacques (Lucienne) of Sudbury, Mariette Roux (late Philippe) of B.C., Lionel Messier (Hélène) of l'Annonciation, Qc, Cécile Bossé (late Ronald), Françoise Laforest (Gérard) and Laurette Aubertin (late Laurent) all of Garson, Fernand Messier (late Ruth Anne), Gaëtan Messier (Patricia), Yvonne Lortier (Verdon) and Hélène Pollock (Terry) all of Spanish and Gaston Messier (Louise) of Hanmer. Predeceased by his brothers Ernest (Aline of Whitefish), Gérard (Marie Anne of Sault Ste-Marie) and Yvon (Gisèle of Garson). Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Luc (Jodie), André, Yves and his great-granddaughter Katia. Lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law, his 5 sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Mr. Messier was a retired Falconbridge employee with 33 years of service. The focus of Lucien's life was his loving family who will miss him dearly. He was an avid outdoorsman also enjoying curling and playing cards. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CO- OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Thursday evening from 7-9:00 p.m. and Friday from 2-5 and 7-9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in St- Dominique Church, Sudbury.
