MILES, Elizabeth “Betty“ Ann (nee Whelan) - In loving memory of Elizabeth “Betty“ Ann Miles (nee Whelan). Passed away peacefully in her 85th year with her family by her side at Norview Lodge, Simcoe, Ontario. A longtime resident of Capreol, Betty was a very active member of her local community. She volunteered at the Capreol Skill Hill, with the Girl Guides of Canada and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Capreol. Born in Belleville in 1926 she is predeceased by her husband of 37 years Fred, her parents James and Catherine, sister Angela, her husband Jack, and brother Bill and his wife Anne. She is survived by her son Andrew Miles (wife Glenda) of Spruce Grove Alberta, and their sons Warren Bradley (wife Kari, daughters Audrey and Elsa), Nathan and Kaelan; daughter Mary Demers(husband Vince) of Simcoe and their children Hannah, Jacob, and Thomas; daughter Margaret Fairbairn of Edmonton, Alberta and her daughters, Allison, Ainsley and Rebecca; daughter Bridget Flanagan (husband Eric) of Edmonton, Alberta, and daughter Janet Osadczuk (husband Jim) of Tomahawak, Alberta, and their children Graham and Maisy. Many nieces and nephews make up her extended family who are also traveling to say their goodbyes. An avid card and crib player, Betty will be sadly missed by her family and many friends in the Capreol Community. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, Hanmer Capreol Chapel, Michelle Dr., Hanmer. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Thursday, August 25th, 2011 at 11am. Donations to the Alzheimer Society; Norview Lodge, Simcoe; Capreol Cross-Country Ski Club; or charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
