Garry was born in Timmins, Ontario on January 10, 1938. He met the love of his life, Donna, in 1958. They married on March 26, 1960. Garry was a caring and considerate man with great integrity. He always set the example of a compassionate individual, always eager and ready to help anyone at any time. His children say he was a super dad, always there to advise, guide and support them in every way. To his grandchildren, he was a great Papa who would always answer all their questions. He taught them fishing techniques and how to play an honest card game. They have endless happy memories of playing cards and fishing. Garry will especially be remembered for his sense of humour and little pranks. Garry was happiest while spending time at camp on Trout Lake. Playing backgammon and cards every day with his queen, Donna, while listening to music, feeding the chipmunks and squirrels, (fur faces) as well as fishing were his ultimate pastimes. He retired from Falconbridge in 1990, having served 30 years. During his retirement, he enjoyed many winters at their condo in New Port Richey, Florida. He lived his life to the fullest and will be missed and loved by all who knew him.

At Garry's request there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of life will be announced. Arrangements are trusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
