OJANPERA, Stanley Lester - In loving memory of Stanley L. Ojanpera, 62 years, who passed away Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 at the SRH - St. Joseph's Health Centre. He was born in Sudbury and married Karen (Anderson) in 1972 in Whitefish. A well known and liked life resident of Whitefish. He had been a machinist at INCO for 33 years retiring in 1999. An inspired builder he embraced building projects being an active volunteer. He was especially proud of the construction of the Helipad with the Panache campers association. Stan loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be remembered as a very knowledgeable person who was quick to help others. He had a great love of the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and flying his plane. A determined person he was articulate and passionate about his values and opinions. He was happiest in the company of his friends whether playing broomball or preparing a dinner. The focus of his life was his loving family especially his precious grandchildren who he loved to tease. His light and love will continue to inspire and influence all he knew. Beloved husband of Karen (Anderson) Ojanpera. Loving father of Dawn (husband Greg MacDonald), Cheryl (husband Buzz Luck predeceased), Lori (husband Jason Rietze). Cherished grandfather of Kyle, Caitlyn, Malcolm, Emilia and Alexander. Dear son of Emile and Maila (Tuomaala) Ojanpera predeceased. Dear brother of Ron (wife Christine). Dear brother in law of Jean Dudar (husband John) and Dick Anderson predeceased (wife Julie). Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews and friends. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sudbury. Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Monday, August 3rd, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation with interment in the Whitefish Public Cemetery. Donations to Ducks Unlimited would be appreciated.
