The family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of Bernadette “Dedette” Gratia Philion (née Clément) at the lovely age of 91. (Dec. 3, 1929 – Dec. 4, 2020). Beloved wife of the late Laurent Philion. Dear daughter of Adélard and Orilda Clément. Precious mother of Claire Louiseize (Jean-Pierre, predeceased), Pauline Ménard (Fern), and Angèle Poulin (Pierre). Mom had a special fondness for her sons-in-law. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Charles, Joël, Cassandra, Jillana, François, Paul, and her great-grandchildren Alexis, Dominic, Jaiden, and Jackson. She was a dear sister and sister-in-law to René (Beatrice, both predeceased), Leola (Roger Séguin, predeceased), Lorraine (Edgar Imbeau, predeceased), Evelyn (Emile Poitras, predeceased), Armelle (Percy Kingsbury), Claude (Marie Clément), Colette (Robert Dionne), Guy (Lucille Clément), Carole (René Ménard), and Yves (Elaine Clément). Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews. Dedette’s devotion was to her family. Her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable.
Tu as toujours sute contenter de ce que tu avais, tu a donnél’ exemple par ton courage et ta grâce. A cause de toi, notre famille est plus unie et a fait de nous ce que nous sommes aujourd’hui.
Mom’s belief was that while on Earth, she saw God from the shore. Her message to us was “There’s more, there’s more,” and now, she walks with God, hand in hand.
The family expresses their appreciation to the staff on the 7th Floor at HSN and Home Area 4 at the Elizabeth Centre for their care and compassion. As per Mom’s request, there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of life will be announced at a later time. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Sudbury Food Bank would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
