Joe Mac Portraits 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fernand Joseph Pineault November 14th 2024 at the age of 79.

Fern had a joie de vivre (love of life) like no other. Anyone who was fortunate enough to cross paths with him would attest that he had a heart of gold. He was the most gentle, soft-hearted, accepting, down-to-earth, selfless and loving man anyone could ever meet. He valued people above all else and always made the best of his time spent with them. He loved kids and the famous "zipline" he created for all of the neighbourhood kids on Carl street in Hanmer back in the day will forever be remembered.

He was a very hard worker who retired from INCO after 32 years and then owned and operated the "Stretch-A-Buck" dollar store  in Capreol from 1999-2016. He was always so happy and the light that radiated from his soul was always so very bright and could be felt by everyone who was in his presence. He is predeceased by his parents Darcas Rheault Pineault and Ernest Pineault and his 12 brothers and sisters. He is also predeceased by his wife and the mother of his children Rita Paquette Pineault as well as his later-in-life partner Nancy Sovey. He leaves behind his son Joël Pineault, his daughter Michelle Pineault Lafave (husband James Lafave) and his 4 beloved grandchildren Abigail, Kiersten, Ashten and Kaylee Lafave whom he loved more than words can say and were his absolute pride and joy. He will also be missed by his brother Aurèle Pineault (Laurette predeceased) and many nieces and nephews as well as his good friends Andy, Lynn, Ted, Lise, Stan, Lil, Lorraine, Jeannine, Nan and Jamie.

Fern truly loved and accepted people as they were and was always a helper and caregiver. He was a prime example of how humans should live in the present and be thankful and grateful for every second they get to live here on earth by cherishing other human beings.

The void left in his loved ones is immense and will never be filled but like his granddaughter Abigail said: "Don't be sad. His party is now in heaven and it's a very BIG one as the majority of his loved ones are already there waiting for him."

A celebration of life will be announced at a further date.
