POIRIER, Vivian (Harvey) (nee Leach) - The death of Vivian Poirier, age 76 of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario occurred at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Vivian was born to Isaac and Frances Leach on April 1, 1935 in Sudbury, Ontario. She was raised and took her schooling in Foleyet, Ontario. On August 1, 1952 she married Henry Harvey in Foleyet, Ontario. They raised their children in Manitouwadge, Ontario and after retirement they resided in several locations. After Henry's death she married Yvon Poirier of Thunder Bay. After Yvon's death, Vivian moved to Sault Ste. Marie to be near family members. Family has always been extremely important to Vivian. Trips out west and east were times she looked forward to with her children and their families. Anyone who knows Vivian knew she was a very strong person physically and spiritually. Her love and closeness of family gave her strength and courage to fight and overcome many battles. Predeceased by her parents and two brothers Clarence Leach and Brian Leach and infant sister Jacelyn; her husband Henry the father of her children; and second husband Yvon Poirier. Vivian is survived by her children Wendy Ouellette (Georges), Barb Gibney (Rocky), Gary Harvey, Pamela Harvey and their families. Also survived by her sisters; Eunice Dubreuil, Donna Jalbert, Gail Isaacs, Dale Sager and brother Malcolm Leach and their families as well as many other family and friends. Funeral service to be held at Holy Trinity Church (352 Northern Ave. East) on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 11 am. Rev. Bill Stadnyk officiating.
