It is with great sorrow to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jody Andre Poitras in Sudbury, Friday October 25, 2024, at the age of 60 years.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved partner Beverly Marsh, his loving mother Patricia Marshall, his baby sister Ginger Poitras and his stepdaughter Jazmyn Malloy. Predeceased by his father Walter R. Poitras. Cherished uncle to Chelsey and Jessy and adopted uncle to Owen and Rylan, also great uncle to Tyanna, Alia, Hannah, Thomas and Scarlett. He will also be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jody a.k.a. Smiley referred to by friends never missed an opportunity to make others smile and laugh.
His quick wit and sharp comebacks were never ending. He had a story that could relate to any situation. He could both amaze and astonish any listener. He never missed a beat and had no filter. Jody loved fishing, skiing, hiking, long rides on his motorcycle, hooking up with friends and family and road trips. He was a creative inventor of new ideas using random treasures he would find and bring home. Jody was a staunch supporter of Pet Save and a lover of all creatures furry or feathered. All who knew and loved him will have a vivid memory to share.
Friends and family are welcome to come celebrate Jody’s life, Thursday October 31, 2024, at his home between the hours of 6pm -10pm. Costumes are welcome.
Alternatively a celebration of life will be held at the Lockerby Legion, 2200 Long Lake Rd, Greater Sudbury, on November 16th, from 6pm - 11pm
