Nicola Rocco Polifroni
Friday, December 01, 1933, to Monday, December 30, 2024
Nicola in January 1958 travelled from Cimina Italy to Halifax and onto Sudbury to marry the Love of his Life and beloved wife Francesca of 67 years.
To provide for his family he worked many jobs at Pioneer Construction, Cecutti’s, Chisnelle, Parrotta Paving to mention a few and then INCO for the most part of 32 years retiring in 1991.
Together they started their family of four children including Giuseppina Bates (Randy) Rose Ficara (Philip), Maria-Anna & Rocco.
Nonno will be forever missed by grandchildren Natalina, Nicoletta, Francesca and great grandchildren Aislinn, Jon, Bjorni, Danila, Tatum & Myen.
Predeceased by his parents Rocco Polifroni & Giuseppa Marzolino, sisters Carmela and Rosa and brothers Vincenzo and Antonio. Survived by Domenica Ieropoli and Philip (Nicole).
Nicola & Francesca loved to vacation in the winter months to Acapulco, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic for many years.
Lifetime member of the Caruso Club and tightly woven into the Italian community with their Golden Age dances and Legion dance afternoons.
Boardwalk evening walking, Bell Park Theatre events, gardening and preserving and maintaining the southern Italian traditions.
Husband, Father, Nonno, Pro-Nonno you will be Forever Missed.
Special Thank You to Dr. Boissonnault, Dr. Brown, Dr. De Blacam, Dr. Peters and Dr. Strong including 4th and 5th floor nurses and PSW’s. A special Thank You to 5th floor PSW Paul who cared for Nicola and went over and above. The family is eternally grateful!
Nicola has requested private service at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home and a private entombment in the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to the HSN Foundation would be appreciated. No public visitation.
