In Loving Memory of Mary Potvin (Gazdic), 96 years old on, July 4, 2022, at Health Sciences North.

Mary was born in Hungary on September 22, 1925, to George and Elizabeth Gazdic (both predeceased). Her family came to Canada when Mary was 6 years old. Mary is predeceased by her brothers, Louis (Fern, predeceased), George (Collette, predeceased), and Steve (predeceased) (Evelyn). She was married to her husband Gerard (Gerry, predeceased) for 57 years. Mary was a cashier at the former Dominion Store on Riverside Drive for many years. Before Gerry’s passing, they spent many wonderful winters in Florida.

Mary is survived by her 3 children, Claire (Ken Keegan) of Ottawa, Janice (Vince Panella) of Sudbury and Gerard (Debbie, predeceased) of Dorset. Mary was the cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren, Ron (Virginia Stites), Kathy (Laurie Geromini), Joanne (Michael Grozelle), Andrea (Steve Malfait), Tina (Brendon Legge), Anthony (Christine Panella), Lisa (Dan Lachapelle), Stephanie (Justin McMillan) and Samantha (Nathan Taylor). She was very proud of her 22 great grandchildren. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of the 4th floor, North Tower, especially Tammy. They made Mary’s last days very comfortable and allowed her to leave this world with dignity.

Funeral visitation at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Friends are welcome from 9:30am – 10:00am, Thursday. Funeral mass in Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury, Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 10:30am. Interment in the Civic Cemetery.
