In loving memory of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Alice Elise Poulin (nee Lafrance) born July 2, 1936 and passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024.

Daughter of Albert Lafrance (predeceased) and Florence Chaloux (predeceased), beloved wife of Edgar Poulin (predeceased). Loving mother of four sons: Richard, Danny, Mike (Colette Godin) and Rob. Sister to Lorraine Ouimette, Liliane Berube, Cecile Bissaillon (predeceased), Jill McLeod (predeceased) and Norman Lafrance (predeceased). Proud extended parent to 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren: Daniel, Michel, Genevieve, Janique, Ian, Les, David, Madeleine, Steven (predeceased), Bastien and Brielle.

To those that had the privilege of meeting and spending time with Alice, you couldn’t help but feel the aura of calmness and peace that she exuded. Her life force, a vibrational being, was that of love, generosity and acceptance. Always an open door, a smile and a welcoming way. Didn’t matter who: family, friends, neighbours, those that lost their way and yes, even the neighborhood pets. We all came over to see Alice! When speaking with her she made you feel like you were the only person in the world. She was a selfless soul who more often than not put the needs of others ahead of her own. One could surmise that Alice learned her benevolent ways after raising 4 rambunctious boys while managing her late husband - Chicago Eddy. That was no easy task!

As a true Sudburian, Alice’s passion was spending time with friends picking blueberries. She loved being in “the bush” surrounded by nature while picking, as she used to call them, “her little blue pearls”.

Alice was blessed with a keen sense of being in tune with others’ feelings. It was part of what made her special. Many would come to visit her and share. In her own special way she would offer her common sense wisdom. She would often say:

  • We’re all different and the world would be a boring place if we were all the same
  • Your kids and family always come first
  • Don’t be in such a rush, where are you going anyway that’s so important?
  • Save your money - you never know when times will get tough
  • Our animal friends can sense the kindness in you
  • Why do you have to buy all the time, the old one still works – stop wasting

May Alice be in a place that resonates with her existence. A place of peace, harmony and love.

At the request of her immediate family there will be no funeral or visitation. A private family Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
